Congdon’s After Dark has teamed with Barreled Souls Brewing in Saco, ME to create TWO beers made with our own Congdon’s doughnuts, which is served at the food truck park. We met with Barreled Souls co-owners Matthew Mills and Chris Schofield, both Wells, ME natives, in the fall of 2017 to come up to discuss the possibility of infusing their small batch, barrel-brewed beers with our tasty pastries.
Ultimately, we came up two distinct styles and flavors that are as delicious as they are unique:
Honey-Dipped Blonde (5.5% abv) – A bright, smooth blonde ale made with our world famous Honey Dip doughnuts. It is light and delicious with a slightly sweet finish, a perfect summer night easy sipper. Served with a doughnut hole garnish. (draft only)
Maple Bacon Fritter Stout (10.3% abv) – A dark and complex imperial stout made with our Maple Bacon Fritters. The smoky bacon undertones complement a nice touch of syrup in a rich, full flavor that packs a punch. (16 oz. bottle only)
Both beers are available only at Congdon’s Doughnuts Family Restaurant and Congdon’s After Dark food truck park, and only while supplies last!
